Anchors

See "flux and anchor" for inspiration. Large, stationary artifacts which, once activated, maintains reality in a section of the Wyld. (Whether this counts as Wyld-tainted land, as with Wyld-Shaping Technique (p 216, main book) or actual land in creation as with Wyld Cauldron Technique (p 217), I don't know; perhaps there are multiple ways of activating them? I'm guessing that the resulting region would be about 5 square miles, selected to be equivalent to a slightly above average use of Conning Chaos Technique (Siderials p 165). Alternately, these may create Waypoints in the Wyld, but I need to look in more detail at the Fair Folk mechanics before deciding that.

Probably Artifact 3. Requires a Hearthstone to power it; perhaps Level 3? Activation should require the use of a Solar charm or spell; Celestial Circle spell sounds reasonable, but a bit high for a good mechanic at game start. I'd also like there to be a benefit to dropping villages of mortals near these; perhaps they're a bribe for the fae ("Don't mess with my anchor; look, have some handy mortals to tell stories with!), perhaps they add to the defensibility of the artifacts, power the artifact in some fashion, or expand the area the artifact can anchor. A resettlement program just sounds more interesting than dropping cool artifacts throughout the Wyld by themselves.

Creating Manses

In order to properly anchor a new pole, a network of manses needs to be constructed in the new Direction, attuned to the element of the new Pole. 1 level 5, 2 level 4s, 3 level 3s, 5 level 2s, 8 level 1s?

This may require a Solar of at least essence 3 and ideally essence 4, to use their Wyld-shaping lore charms. Alternately, although the Artifact 3 Anchors listed above generate ordinary land, an Artifact 5 version might be able to create a Manse/Demesne. (Perhaps a manse equivalent to the strength of its Hearthstone - 2? So, handy technique for filling out those low-level manses, but you need high-powered help for the Manse 4s and 5s.)

Creating a Pole

Requirements

  • manse network attuned to the new Pole's element; all hearthstones from those manses must be contributing to this effort.
  • 1 unshaped fae, consenting or bound.
  • 1 3rd Circle Demon, consenting or bound.
  • Celestial or Solar circle spell designed to do just this
  • Network of hearthstones attuned to the new Pole's element
  • ??? Gaia's consent? Some mechanism for forcing Gaia to accept a new soul? Or perhaps the Poles aren't Gaia's component souls at all...
  • An unbroken connection to Creation.
  • Some significant distance from an existing pole?

Moving a Pole

The poles mark the boundaries of creation. Moving the poles should expand the boundaries of creation.
